Who we are
Welcome to the Recycle for Gloucestershire Schools team! We are part of the Gloucestershire Waste Partnership.
Our team comprises of Hannah Gray (Waste Education Officer), Kate Cole (Waste Minimisation and Recycling Officer and Kim Carpenter-Richards (Waste Projects Officer)).
Waste is a major issue with every school in the UK producing about a tonne of rubbish a term. We need to take action now and make the ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’ message an integral part of everyday life - Where better to start than with educating children?
By developing the Recycle for Gloucestershire Schools Education Programme we hope to show children that their behaviour can have a direct impact on the environment. We support local schools as learning about waste forms one of the 8 Sustainable School doorways and is an important part of the Eco Schools award linking with many National Curriculum areas.
Here’s how we can help...
Why not get your school to join our exciting Recycle For Gloucestershire Schools Challenge? It really is simple, and all efforts you make towards managing your school’s waste will make a big difference. Prizes are awarded to schools who are really showing their commitment to reducing, reusing, recycling and composting.
There are areas on our fun, child-friendly site for children, teachers, youth workers and families to explore and learn more about recycling. Offering downloads, fun facts and links to other useful organisations and websites.
