Zero Waste Community
Bisley Blue Coat C of E Primary School took part recently in a ground-breaking project!
They were part of Gloucestershire’s flagship Zero Waste community.
Many exciting projects took part in the village. Some of the Bisley families had their portraits created from rubbish collected by artist Gavin McClafferty, who spent the week in the local sports Pavillion, building the sculptures.
Children from the school were able to drop in and see how he was progressing. Gavin told Recycle for Gloucestershire that he had enjoyed the interaction with people. Lots of children told him they were inspired to go home and have a go at creating their own ‘rubbish faces’!
Lynn Hemming is pictured here with a week’s worth of waste from her home, and the model that Gavin created from it.
