Visit to Glebe Infant School
Glebe Infant School were the first school to complete their waste audit, and are busily undertaking lots of tasks from the action challenge list.
We thought we should pay them a visit to see for ourselves what they are getting up to. We met Mr Manning, Eco-Co-ordinator, and some Eco Club members. They showed us their Discovery Garden ( possibly the prettiest school garden ever ) the new vegetable garden, their compost bins and the Eco notice board.
They are currently working hard to become a Green Flag Eco School. What impressed us was the way that the message is being spread out to the local community.
We gave them a very special gift, to say thank you for being the first school to complete the waste audit. They received a wooden beehive composter made by teenagers at the Youth Offending Service. These young people make wooden items which they then give to community groups. We are grateful to Gloucestershire County Council Youth Offending Service for donating such a beautiful item.
