Q: When is a crisp packet not a crisp packet?

A: When you've banned the bins during Zero Waste Week of course!

Recently Mr Gue,  Sustainability Co-ordinator at Longlevens Junior School, challenged all the pupils to see what they could do with waste other than dumping it in the class bins. We hear that nearly every class managed to
throw almost nothing away for the whole of Zero Waste Week, and there was a right kerfuffle when someone accidentally put their pencil sharpenings in the bin and not into the compost caddy!

6G held a competition to see who could come up with the most inventive 'reuse' idea. We have to say, this pencil pot, made by casting plaster of paris inside an old crisp packet, gets our vote! Can we have one please 6G?
