Big Tidy Up

Glebe Infant and Picklenash Junior School, Newent, have held a Big Tidy Up event. Supported by Street Wardens, Rob Carpenter and John Cooke, children, parents and staff scoured the streets to collect litter.

Reception Teacher, Simon Manning from Glebe Infants said, “Newent is not a litter strewn town, so we did not expect to fill bags and bags of rubbish. We wanted to increase the children’s knowledge of environmental issues, and their awareness of the effect litter can have on our locality. The children were very enthusiastic in taking part and having a pride in their town. With the excellent weather, a fantastic turn out of parent helpers, and eager children, it all culminated into making the event huge success.”
