Compost CaddyTop tips in the
school grounds

Your compost heap should ideally:

• Be placed in a partially sunny spot to help speed up the process.

• In an area that is well drained to allow water to drain out

• On soil so that worms can get in and help break down the contents.

The compost will take about 9 – 12 months to be ready to use. When it is ready it will have a spongy texture and be dark brown in colour. It will be rich in nutrients which will help to make your garden grow!
